Amerigo Vespucci was an Italian explorer, financier, navigator and cartographer who first demonstrated that Brazil and the West Indies did not represent Asia's eastern outskirts as initially conjectured from Columbus' voyages, but instead constituted an entirely separate landmass hitherto unknown to Afro-Eurasians. From him this floor standing globe takes its name. The map, updated from our team of cartographers, boasts incredible details in terms of countries and major cities, rivers, seas and mountains. The wooden stand gives maximum balance and stability while the aluminum meridian allows a 360° exploration of the sphere which rotates on two axis.
